Two St. Louis charities will benefit from the recent Budweiser “First to Fight” boxing matches at Scottrade Center.
The BackStoppers and the Marine Corp’s Semper Fi Society will each receive $10,000 raised by the event June 20 that kicked-off Marine Week activities in St. Louis. The Semper Fi Society will use a portion of the donation for its Toys for Tots Christmas program.
Cape Girardeau’s VFW Post 3838 Men’s Auxiliary has donated $500 to The BackStoppers, an organization that assists the families of first responders who die in the line of duty. The BackStoppers recently added Cape Girardeau county to the list of counties covered by the group.

families and businesses, The BackStoppers have met their
goal of raising $1 million during the last 18 months
to match a challenge gift from philanthropists David
C and Flora Pratt.
